Guidelines for using nook
nook is a community that fully endorses responsible and ethical participation of its members. We value and are committed to an environment that is safe and fun for all members.
To assist you, we have put together some basic guidelines that we ask you to follow when using nook.
Adhering to both these guidelines and our Terms and Conditions (the legal stuff) will ensure your continued use of nook.
The basics:
Nobody under the age of 18
Teens under the age of 18 are not allowed to use the site. If you see something that does not seem right or bothers you, please inform us immediately.
Keep your identity to yourself
When joining nook, each member creates a User Name. This is so that you may retain your anonymity throughout the community. Never give out your real name when requested by a stranger. In addition, nook NEVER asks for any of your user information or passwords.
Be careful about what you share
nook is a local online community and needs to be treated with the same diligence as the community where you live. This means that whatever information you say or share with others is in the nook public domain, and there may be some things you might like to keep to yourself.
Keep it positive
Offering comments is a great way to start or join into a conversation. As with any conversation, your comments can open the door to intense debate, argument or praise. We like the praise, and the constructive criticism. Please don’t harass, abuse, impersonate or intimidate others. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, we will send you a warning or even terminate your account.
Keep it clean
nook is a modern, civil, multi-cultural community that has many different cultures represented. Any content that includes pornography, illegal acts, excessive violence, or anything racially or ethnically offensive is not tolerated. This includes your profile picture. Please let us know if you find inappropriate content, or if you come across something that you think shouldn’t be on the site. If you think there’s immediate cause for concern, you can report content and/or behaviour to nook directly via our Contact page.
Keep it growing
The best communities are those that grow and thrive. Invite your friends, your family and your colleagues. The more people who join and share content, the better the nook community gets for everyone.
